Kevin Killough runs RV Repair LLC out of Fort Myers. He got into the trade working part time for an RV business when construction work was slow. That part time job turned into the business he runs now.
He only works on RVs. He does not work on cars, so every story he tells about a repair is about a motorhome or trailer, not a truck or sedan.
The Job He Gets Called For Most
The job Kevin gets called out for most is broken slide outs. He says these repairs can run anywhere from a couple hundred dollars up to $2,000, depending on what is wrong.
What Customers Get Wrong
Kevin says people usually think electrical repairs are going to be expensive, but they often are not. It is one of those jobs that looks scarier and pricier to a customer than it actually turns out to be.
A Repair He's Proud Of
Kevin says he has never told a customer their RV was junk. Since he only works on RVs, every job he takes on gets a real shot at repair rather than a write off.
The RV he is proudest to have worked on was a $4.8 million Prevost. That is the standout job on his list.
Maintenance People Skip
Kevin says the maintenance most people skip is the yearly AC and appliance maintenance package. It is the kind of upkeep that gets put off until something breaks.
