How Loyd Got Started

Loyd Pearson runs Loyd's Mobile Mechanic LLC out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He got into the trade through his dad when he was 11 years old. In 2020, after losing his father, he started his own company.

That history is part of why the business runs the way it does. This is not a franchise or a call center. It is one man who learned the trade early and built a company around it.

The Most Common Call

The job Loyd gets called for most is a no crank no start. Usually that means a bad starter. He puts that repair at about $210 to do.

If you turn the key and nothing happens, that is the call he is used to handling.

Fair on Price

Loyd says customers sometimes get the price wrong in their head before he even looks at the car. His answer to that is simple. If the cost feels too steep, he will talk through it with the customer, and he will give a discount when it makes sense.

That is his word, not a policy printed anywhere. But it is how he says he runs the business.

A Repair He's Proud Of

Loyd points to a 2013 Ford F150 that came in with what looked like a timing chain issue. He fixed it, and in his words it has been running uncontrollably good ever since.

His favorite vehicle he has worked on is a 2007 Ford F250 with a 6.0 engine. He rebuilt it for the homeowner.

What's On The Van

Asked what tools and parts he carries, Loyd's answer was short. Everything you can think of.

He also flags two maintenance jobs people tend to skip until it is too late. Brakes, and oil changes.

Area Covered And How A Call Works

Loyd's Mobile Mechanic LLC covers the 918 area in Oklahoma. The process is straightforward. You call, he gets your location, and he comes out to diagnose the issue and get your vehicle back on the road.

His advice for anyone hiring a mechanic, mobile or otherwise, is to check two things first. Their certification, and whether they are fully insured. It is advice he gives as a mechanic himself, not just a sales pitch for his own shop.
